This book required a lot of research. Anyone who knows me, and understands how mistreatment of others wounds me, will understand how difficult it was for me to write this story. But I truly felt the slaves and the men who served on the West Africa Squadron (part of the Royal Navy) deserved to be written about, even if it is in a work of fiction.

Wow, sounds like a super interesting read - something I would have never known the Royal Navy did if you hadn't done the research! Thank goodness you did to make it accurate! I checked out the blurb on Amazon and it looks like a wonderful story! I wish you the best of luck with your launch! :)
